Morgan Thomas was appointed as the replacement for Jill Wilson on May 14, 2026, due to Jill being ineligible for the role when she accepted an athletic administration position at UNC-Asheville. In the fall of 2026, Jill was elected to her first full term on the board with an effective date of January 1, 2026. Morgan will complete the term ending December 31, 2028.
This board seat is charged with leading the AVCA Assistant Coaches Committee. Morgan’s goals for her term include:
Strengthen and expand meaningful connections among assistant coaches across all levels of volleyball through collaboration, mentorship, and professional networking opportunities.
Serve as a strong and informed voice for assistant coaches in legislative conversations and decisions impacting recruiting, NIL/revenue sharing, playing and practice season structure, and the evolving collegiate landscape.
Support initiatives that increase the visibility, marketability, and commercial growth of volleyball while helping elevate opportunities for coaches and student-athletes nationwide.
Create professional development opportunities for assistant coaches through education, mentorship, leadership training, and resources that help coaches grow both personally and professionally through the Assistant Coaches Committee.
If there are other issues you think the AVCA Assistant Coaches Committee should be focusing on, please contact Morgan or AVCA Assistant Coaches Committee staff liaison, Brad Wilson.
