Pat Henderson is the AVCA’s Manager of Communications and E-commerce. As the association’s communications guy, he takes the lead on press releases, media relations, sports information, and social media. He oversees the AVCA polls and Player of the Week awards and works with the Division II head coaches committee. He also is the keeper of the AVCA polls and awards archives and handles the AVCA product store.

Before joining the AVCA staff in August 2021, Pat spent the first two chapters of his journalism career as a writer, editor, and content creator for Host Communications Sports Publishing and the National Tour Association. An Iowa State University graduate and a Cyclone State native, he is a big fan of exploring new places, learning about different cultures, and checking out national parks. He also enjoys attending live performances—sports, concerts, and theater—and is a donut aficionado.
