The AVCA is proud to announce its 2023 42nd annual All-America teams for NCAA Division III women’s volleyball.
The 2023 class includes 42 players—14 on the first, second, and third teams—from 23 schools. Juniata and NYU each had two players on the first team. Juniata and Northwestern-St. Paul lead the pack in terms of total number of All-Americans with four each, and NYU and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps both placed three players on the first three teams.
Twenty-six of the players become All-Americans for the inaugural time, and first-team selection Jennifer Ngo of becomes the first player ever from Case Western Reserve to be an All-American.
The 2023 Players of the Year are Olivia Foley of Juniata College and Addie VanderWeide of Hope College, and the Freshman of the Year is Grace Nelson of NYU. This year’s Coach of the Year is Jon Ellmann of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and the national Assistant Coach of the Year is Casey Dale of Juniata College.
The 2023 All-America selections were made by the AVCA Division III All-America Committee: Tim Byram of Endicott (chair), Lindsay Birch of Christopher Newport, Kirsta Cobb of Ohio Wesleyan, Christi Kelsey of Williams, Shelly Roiger of St. Lawrence, Mary Kate Salko of Franklin & Marshall, Leanne Ulmer of Carthage, Kurt Vlasich of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, DeAnn Woodin of Coe, and Michele Zabinski of DeSales.
