A New Initiative

The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) has partnered with the International Beach Volleyball Coaches Association (IBVCA), a non-profit formed to elevate professional beach volleyball coaching through advocacy, education, and networking. This partnership brings an Olympic flair to knowledge sharing. It is an education initiative for beach volleyball coaches who aspire to or who already coach at the highest levels of the game both in the United States and across the globe.

Beach Advanced Coaching Education (ACE)

This initiative brings the best minds and most experienced beach coaches in the world together to support the development of the beach coaching community at the professional, collegiate and youth levels. Coaches worldwide will gain access to shared knowledge from the sports leading experts. Members of the AVCA and IBVCA will be able to continue their professional development throughout a series of virtual events with complimentary access. These events are Masterclasses, Roundtables and Hot Topics.

The Beach ACE program is designed for beach coaches to continue their professional development and enhance their internal knowledge base. Each hour of participation is awarded 1 ACE credit. It is recommended that coaches strive towards 10 ACE credits every year to maintain relevant knowledge and to support the advancements of the profession.

Masterclass

These virtual sessions serve as a platform for professional coaches to showcase their research, share their experiential learnings, and present approaches to advancing the game. This is the art of coaching at its core. They are designed for current and aspiring professional beach coaches who are looking to enhance their approaches and to learn from the panel of speakers. It is hosted by a member moderator and participants can submit questions to the speakers.

Roundtable

These virtual sessions bring together various professionals, multi-disciplinary teams and panelists on a selected topic. They gather around a virtual roundtable to discuss recent changes and to share perspectives from their unique situation or role within supporting beach athletes and the profession of coaching. They are designed for all levels of beach coaches and for interested professionals working in or with beach volleyball. It is hosted by a member moderator and participants can submit questions to the panel.

Hot Topic

These virtual sessions are designed to provide a forum for coaches to continue to grow and develop and also contribute to the sustainability and professionalization of beach volleyball coaching. The focus for Hot Topics is to look ahead and gather feedback and information to move forward and drive meaningful changes. Each event will open with an update from leading experts. It is hosted by a member moderator and participants will join breakout sessions with selected moderators or speakers. can submit questions to the panel.
