Tara McGuire is the Membership and Communications Specialist at the American Volleyball Coaches Association. She develops strategic initiatives to drive member recruitment, retention, and engagement while overseeing communications, including the AVCA Affiliations and Weekly Assist eNewsletters. Tara serves as liaison to the High School Partnership Program, NAIA Head Coaches Committee, and Regional Affiliate Partner Program Education, and coordinates the AVCA Business Exchange and Silent Auction at the AVCA Convention. She also supports social media outreach and manages AVCA Volleyball Officials Appreciation Weeks in the fall and spring – #OFFICIATIONWEEK.

Prior to the AVCA, Tara spent more than 15 years in communications, project management, and marketing roles with nonprofit organizations in the behavioral health and sports management fields. Tara earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in business administration and marketing from Transylvania University, where she played varsity tennis.

In addition to tennis, Tara is a distance runner having completed six marathons and over 25 half marathons. She also enjoys gardening and spending time with her labradoodle pups.
