US Mens National Team Wins Bronze!
The US Men’s National Team completed the 2024 Olympic Games by earning the Bronze Medal after sweeping Italy in the Bronze medal match today. Overall, the US Men finish the tournament with a 5-1 record with wins over Italy, Brazil, Japan, Germany, and Argentina. The team’s lone loss was an incredible 5-set match versus Poland in the semifinal match. Congratulations to the team members and the entire coaching and support staff at USA Volleyball!

The US Men were asked to read letters from their families while in Paris.

Matt Anderson and Maxwell Holt have been playing volleyball together nearly as long as some of their U.S. men’s Olympic volleyball teammates have been alive. Their connection, which predates even their time together as Penn State roommates, is more than friendship.
The U.S. men’s beach team of Miles Partain and Andy Benesh completed their Olympic run in Paris in the quarterfinals with a 2-0 (21-14, 21-16) loss to Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan of Qatar on Wednesday. Partain and Benesh, the youngest U.S. men’s beach team in Olympic history, ran off three consecutive wins to reach the quarters.
The U.S. beach team of Miles Evans and Chase Budinger fell to the defending Olympic gold medalists Anders Mol and Christian Sørum of Norway, 2-0 (21-16, 21-14) in the Round of 16 in Paris on Monday. Evans/Budinger earned a pair of wins and placed ninth in their first Olympic appearance.

The USA is out of the tournament, and Paris will mark the first Olympic Games in history that the United States will not medal in beach volleyball. For the men, this extends a drought that dates back to 2008, when Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers won gold.
As part of the House settlement agreement college leaders are expanding scholarships to full rosters of each sport, eliminating scholarship restrictions and replacing them with roster size limits. The new scholarship and roster structure — an attempt to prevent future lawsuits — takes effect starting in the 2025-26 academic year and coincides with the settlement’s new model that permits schools to share revenue directly with athletes.
The 2024 Kevin Pratte Foundation KP’S Scholar Athlete and Civic Leadership contest is officially open. The foundation helps pay for the first club volleyball payment for the 2024-2025 season. Last year they had 50 applicants. The contest is currently open and will close on Sunday, August 25th. Please encourage all boys’ volleyball players in the 2025, 2026, and 2027 class to apply.
Registration is open for the 2024 Men’s Beach Collegiate Challenge on Sept. 13-15 at Stevenson University. Every participating athlete has the opportunity to be scouted through the Beach National Team Development Scouting Program.
