Webinar | Advantages and Innovations of increasing Feedback in Youth Sports
There are a couple facts in the majority of youth sport evaluations for tryouts:
- The reality in youth sports is that of all athletes that start playing team sports at a very young age, 70% stop playing by age 13.
- Most orgs using pen and paper when running tryouts almost NEVER provide feedback to athletes as it's too difficult.
In the top reasons why they stop is that they have little confidence they play the sport well
- Speaking as a coach, despite all the verbal reassurances we give kids throughout a season, very little if any is retained and the kid. Making it EASY to provide concrete feedback on what they did well and what they need to work on has MANY benefits to youth sport orgs.
In our presentation, we will touch on:
- the reasons why it's not being done today (pen/paper/spreadsheets)
- huge time savings to sport orgs not having to do data entry twice (paper then spreadsheet)
- Reduced levels during tryouts for sport orgs
- the growing expectancy of data transparency from parents
- the advantages of increasing feedback to athletes
*Increased confidence leads to a higher chance the athlete will return to play the sport the following year
*the athlete knows where exactly they need to improve the most
*parents receive direction what they can do to improve the abilities in their son/daughter
* Increased athlete confidence results in higher registrations and revenue for youth volleyball orgs
