Shelby Forchtner was appointed to the AVCA in the spring of 2023 to complete the remainder of retiring two-year college board representative Paula Wiedemann thru December 31, 2023. Shelby was elected to her first three-year term in the fall of 2023 and will begin her term on January 1, 2024. The Two-Year College board representative leads the entire two-year college sector made up of the CCCAA, the NJCAA, and the NWAC. Areas of focus for her term include:
Enhancing the Two-Year College Players to Watch Program.
Establishing best practices for two-year college programs and their collaboration with sports information.
Advocating for the continued emergence of beach volleyball and men’s volleyball.
Championing the two-year college experience as a viable option for aspiring student-athletes and coaches.
