Jason Jones has been the Chief Operating Officer with the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) since January 2012. Jones’ responsibilities in this position include being the lead event planner for the AVCA Annual Convention and AVCA Small College Beach Championships, developing and overseeing the association budget and finances, and managing the general operations of the association. Jones began his tenure with the AVCA in July 2006 as Director of Operations and Events.
Jones has been a member of the Associations International (AVCA’s parent company) management team since 2002. Prior to joining the AVCA, Jones was the Assistant Director of Education with the National Tour Association (NTA). In this role, Jones developed the educational programming for NTA including educational seminars at events, webinars, web site content and the association professional certification program. He has over 25 years of experience working with membership-based associations in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors.
Jones has a Master of Science degree in sports management and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in marketing and management from the University of Kentucky. He was awarded the Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) designation in August 2008. In addition, Jones is a licensed real estate agent with the Kentucky Real Estate Commission and a licensed basketball official for the Kentucky High School Athletic Association.
